TikToker Scores $1,000 Jimmy Choo Shoes for Just $5 in Atlanta
A TikTok user from Georgia recently captured the attention of social media after discovering a pair of $1,000 Jimmy Choo shoes for just $5 at a second-hand store in Atlanta. The incident, which took place at a store named 2W, has generated widespread excitement online, highlighting the thrill of unexpected finds in thrift shopping.
While browsing the shelves, Savannah, who wears a size 5/6, expressed her frustration about the difficulty of finding stylish shoes that fit. She told Newsweek, “I was cursing my inability to find ‘cute shoes’ in my size.” To her astonishment, she stumbled upon the high-end footwear amidst the racks, a discovery she described as surreal. “I was in complete shock because this never happens to me,” she said.
Following her find, Savannah decided to share her experience with her followers on TikTok. She posted a video set to the iconic song “Take My Breath Away” from the film Top Gun, captioning it with the phrase “someone messed up.” The captivating nature of her story resonated with viewers, leading to a flurry of comments and shares.
Founded in 1996 in London, Jimmy Choo quickly rose to fame as a luxury footwear brand, beloved by celebrities and fashion enthusiasts alike. The brand gained significant recognition when the late Princess Diana was seen wearing its designs, further propelled into the spotlight by the television series Sex and the City, where the character Carrie Bradshaw frequently donned the brand’s signature styles.
Savannah’s discovery is a testament to the excitement of second-hand shopping, where remarkable deals can be found. Even though she is yet to find the perfect occasion to wear her new heels, she mentioned that they hold a special place in her wardrobe. “Of course I bought them,” she shared, noting that the price was too good to pass up, despite not actively looking for heels.
This unexpected find not only highlights the joy of thrift shopping but also serves as a reminder of the luxury items that can sometimes be overlooked in second-hand stores. Savannah’s story has inspired many to explore thrift shops, as they may uncover their own hidden treasures.
