Jaguars Center Robert Hainsey Returns for Wembley Clash Against Rams
The Jacksonville Jaguars welcomed back center Robert Hainsey for their crucial game against the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday at Wembley Stadium. Hainsey, a team captain, participated in the matchup after recovering from a hamstring injury that had sidelined him during last week’s 20-12 defeat to the Seattle Seahawks. His absence was felt as the Jaguars struggled offensively in that game.
In Hainsey’s absence, the Jaguars managed a mere 59 rushing yards, and quarterback Trevor Lawrence endured a challenging outing, getting sacked a career-high seven times. Hainsey’s return aimed to bolster the offensive line against a formidable Rams defense.
Unfortunately for the Jaguars, linebacker Devin Lloyd, who was named the AFC Defensive Player of the Month for September, and tight end Quintin Morris did not travel with the team due to injuries. Lloyd is dealing with a calf issue, while Morris is recovering from a groin injury. Additionally, Jacksonville’s inactive list included safety Kahlef Hailassie, running back Cody Schrader, offensive lineman Wyatt Milum, and defensive tackle Khalen Saunders Sr., further impacting their roster depth.
The Rams faced their own challenges as they prepared for this matchup. Star wide receiver Puka Nacua was ruled out earlier in the week due to an ankle injury, along with right tackle Rob Havenstein, who also suffered an ankle problem. Los Angeles listed quarterback Stetson Bennett IV, running back Jarquez Hunter, offensive lineman Beaux Limmer, and defensive end Desjuan Johnson as inactive for the game.
The stakes were high for both teams as they sought to improve their standings in the competitive league. The return of Hainsey provided a glimmer of hope for the Jaguars, who aimed to rebound from their previous loss and secure a victory on the international stage at Wembley.
