Alaskan Bush People Star Hints at Show’s Return After 3 Years
UPDATE: In a surprising announcement, Bear Brown, star of Alaskan Bush People, has indicated that the beloved reality series may be making a comeback after a three-year hiatus. The news, shared via TikTok to Bear’s over 660,000 followers, ignited excitement among fans who have long awaited updates on the show’s future.
Bear stated, “It’s looking closer and closer like it might be happening,” despite no official confirmation from the Discovery Channel. He emphasized that various signs suggest a potential revival of the series, which first aired in 2014 and concluded its last episode in December 2022.
This revelation comes amid ongoing speculation about the show’s cancellation, largely due to the $500,000 lawsuit involving the Brown family. Following the death of family patriarch Billy Brown in February 2021, his widow, Ami Brown, has been embroiled in legal disputes. However, Bear asserted that these legal troubles would be resolved soon and had no bearing on the show’s filming status.
Bear also addressed concerns regarding the family’s geographical spread, as siblings have relocated to various states including Washington, Texas, and Alaska. He clarified that the real reason for the show’s hiatus was due to the merger of Warner Bros. and Discovery Channel in April 2022, which complicated production processes.
In a twist of fate, the recent acquisition of Warner Bros. by Netflix for $82.7 billion has stirred the pot further, leading to the emergence of a new entity, Discovery Global, anticipated to fully separate by mid-2026. Bear hinted that this restructuring might pave the way for new episodes of Alaskan Bush People to air again soon, stating, “That and the fact that our show is on hiatus greatly increases the return of Alaskan Bush People.”
Despite the optimism, many fans remain skeptical about the show’s return, as the last episode aired over a year ago. Reports from The U.S. Sun in March confirmed that the series was officially canceled after 14 seasons, leaving followers yearning for closure and updates.
Moreover, the Brown family has faced significant challenges in recent years. Notably, Bear’s sister Rain and her husband were arrested for burglary in April, while brother Noah made concerning allegations regarding Rain’s well-being. Meanwhile, Ami has bravely battled health issues, including a major setback earlier this year when she was hospitalized for chest pain and pneumonia.
As fans eagerly await further developments, Bear’s recent comments have sparked a renewed hope for the show’s return. Keep an eye on this developing story as more details emerge about the future of Alaskan Bush People.
