Kat Dennings Confirms Marvel Scanned Her for Future Projects

Kat Dennings recently revealed that Marvel Studios has scanned her likeness for potential use in future projects. Speaking on the set of her ABC sitcom, “Shifting Gears,” the actress confirmed this while promoting her ongoing work. Dennings has been part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) since her debut as Darcy Lewis in the 2011 film “Thor.” Her extensive resume within the franchise includes appearances in “Thor: The Dark World,” “Thor: Love and Thunder,” and “WandaVision,” among others.

During her conversation with Entertainment Tonight, Dennings responded to a question about starring in the forthcoming Marvel film, “Avengers: Doomsday.” She humorously misinterpreted the question, initially thinking it referred to her current show. “I am in the [Marvel] universe and, as you know, I can’t tell you anything. But I am not in it,” she clarified. “If I were in it, which I’m not, I couldn’t tell you, but I literally am not. I’m sure they already filmed it. I was here [on set]. I’m not in it. But they did scan me, so to be honest they could put me in anything they want at this point. I’m in the system.”

Future of Dennings in the MCU

Dennings’ most recent appearance in the MCU was in the animated series “What If…?” where she voiced Darcy in four episodes. While her future involvement with Marvel remains uncertain, the studio has not disclosed how her scanned likeness will be utilized. “Avengers: Doomsday,” set to release on December 18, is highly anticipated, and it will feature Dennings’ frequent co-star, Chris Hemsworth, reprising his role as Thor.
