The holiday season in Manayunk, Pennsylvania, will take a chilling turn as the Lincoln Mill Haunted House reopens with its unique event, “A Twisted Christmas.” Scheduled for December 12 and 13, from 18:30 to 21:30 each night, this immersive experience promises to blend the festive spirit with elements of horror.

Lincoln Mill Haunted House co-founder Jared Bilsak expressed excitement about the event, stating, “We wanted to continue telling the Lincoln Mill story throughout the holiday season.” The attraction features over 50 fright actors and showcases an elaborate narrative centered around the character of Viktor Kane, a malevolent mill owner whose haunting legacy transforms the mill into a nightmarish winter wonderland.

The story unfolds in the 1930s when Kane hallucinates his workers morphing into twisted elves and sinister winter creatures. Visitors will descend into the mill’s basement via a freight elevator, navigating through this darkly reimagined holiday setting. Bilsak noted, “We always thought it would be interesting to mesh together our two favorite holidays, Christmas and Halloween.”

Transforming the Mill for the Holidays

The Lincoln Mill has undergone significant upgrades to enhance the visitor experience. The interior is adorned with traditional Christmas decorations, including lights, tinsel, and ornaments, layered over the existing haunted sets. “Offering a Christmas-themed event was always a part of the plan,” Bilsak added.

The characters from the haunted house will retain their roles but will be infused with a holiday twist, creating a unique atmosphere. Bilsak highlighted the continuous evolution of the haunted house, stating, “We are always changing things up so guests will never have the same experience twice.”

This year, significant improvements have expanded the haunted house’s footprint, both inside and outside, introducing new scenic effects. The combination of a new soundtrack, lighting enhancements, and the seasonal characters will set “A Twisted Christmas” apart from the traditional Halloween experience.

Future Events and Ongoing Innovations

In addition to this holiday event, the Lincoln Mill Haunted House is already planning for future occasions, including a Valentine’s Day event titled “Viktor’s Valentine” on February 13 and 14, 2024, and a St. Patrick’s Day event on March 14, 2024.

Tickets for “A Twisted Christmas” are available online at lincolnmillhaunt.com. With its innovative approach to holiday celebrations, the Lincoln Mill is set to offer a memorable experience that merges the cheer of Christmas with the thrill of horror, appealing to those seeking something different this holiday season.
