Brandi Carlile to Host ‘SNL’ as Miles Teller Faces Off with Humor

Brandi Carlile is set to host this weekend’s episode of *Saturday Night Live*, replacing Miles Teller in a surprising twist that has generated considerable buzz. The announcement comes as part of a promotional campaign for the show, featuring humorous exchanges between the two stars.
In the newly released promotional clips, Ashley Padilla confronts Miles Teller about his failure to notice her recent haircut. “I got a haircut, and you haven’t said anything about it!” Padilla exclaims, to which Teller responds, “Yeah, sorry, I think I didn’t notice, Ashley, because we’ve never met before.” The playful banter escalates when Carlile, an eleven-time Grammy-winning singer/songwriter, steps in to compliment Padilla’s new look. “I noticed. The second I saw you, I knew you had that new-haircut glow,” Carlile says, prompting Padilla to declare, “Thank you, Brandi Carlile! You’re the host now.”
Teller, visibly taken aback, questions whether Padilla is joking. Comedy cast member Andrew Dismukes assures him she is serious, adding, “I hope you can sing,” to which Teller casually responds, “I can sing.” This reflects Teller’s musical capabilities, having previously performed with country star Keith Urban during a concert in Albuquerque in 2016.
Brandi Carlile’s Musical Journey Continues
This appearance marks Carlile’s fourth time as a musical guest on *SNL* and her second in 2023. In April, she shared the stage with Elton John to promote their collaborative album, *Who Believes in Angels?* This weekend, Carlile will perform songs from her latest solo album, *Returning to Myself*, which was released recently.
On the other hand, this will be Teller’s second hosting stint after making his debut in 2022. He is set to appear on the show ahead of the premiere of his upcoming sci-fi romantic comedy, *Eternity*, which features Elizabeth Olsen and Callum Turner. The film is scheduled to hit theaters on November 26, 2023.
*Saturday Night Live* airs at 23:30 ET / 20:30 PT on NBC and is available for streaming on Peacock. With Carlile taking the lead this weekend, viewers can expect an engaging blend of music and comedy, further enhancing the show’s already vibrant legacy.
