Offset Surprises Fans with Halloween Album ‘Haunted by Fame’
Offset has delighted fans by unexpectedly releasing his new solo album, Haunted by Fame, just in time for Halloween. The album, distributed by UMG Recordings, features collaborations with artists such as NBA Youngboy, NoCap, and Lil Dump. In addition to the album, Offset unveiled a horror-themed music video for the lead track “Ya Digg,” directed by HousePartii, which pairs unsettling visuals with a haunting production style.
The announcement of Haunted by Fame came just hours prior to its release, with Offset teasing the project through cryptic social media posts and a masked teaser clip that hinted at a darker musical direction. This new album marks Offset’s fourth solo project and follows closely on the heels of his introspective third album, Kiari, released merely two months earlier.
Musical Evolution and Chart Performance
While Kiari showcased a more introspective side of Offset, Haunted by Fame shifts towards a sound characterized by paranoia-laced production, distorted hooks, and minimalist 808 beats. The 11-track album reflects a dynamic evolution in his artistry, offering a contrast to his previous work.
In terms of commercial success, Offset has made a significant mark on the music industry. He has achieved over 30 entries on the Billboard Hot 100 as a solo artist, although he has yet to secure a number one hit. His highest-charting solo single, “Ric Flair Drip,” peaked at number 13. Notably, his collaborations have also contributed to his popularity; featured spots on tracks like Tyga’s “Taste” and Kodak Black’s “Zeze” reached numbers 8 and 2, respectively.
Offset’s debut album, Father of 4, launched at number 4 on the Billboard 200 in 2019, selling 89,000 units. His follow-up album, Set It Off, debuted at number 5 in 2023 with 70,000 units and reached number 2 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart.
Collaborations and Legacy
Throughout his career, Offset has collaborated with a host of prominent artists, including Cardi B, Travis Scott, and 21 Savage. His work with the trio Migos notably earned him a number one hit on the Hot 100 in 2017 with “Bad and Boujee,” featuring Lil Uzi Vert.
The release of Haunted by Fame continues to affirm Offset’s prolific presence in the music scene, showcasing his ability to adapt and evolve artistically. Fans can now stream the album and experience this latest chapter in his career.
