Kellen Weaver Named MVP in District 20-2A Volleyball Awards

Beckville senior Kellen Weaver has been honored as the Most Valuable Player following the announcement of the District 20-2A All-District Volleyball Team for the 2025 season. Weaver had an impressive performance throughout the season, recording 375 kills, 62 aces, 56 blocks, 132 digs, and 18 assists for the Ladycats.

The selection of superlative awards recognized other outstanding players in the district. The title of Top Hitter went to J’Khalyn Davis of Garrison, while the Top Blocker awards were shared by Maci Morris of Beckville and Katherine Lindemann of Garrison. Taylor Youngblood from Elysian Fields was named Defensive MVP, and Adyson Davis of Beckville earned recognition as the Top Server. The Top Setter award went to Carli Tuttle of Beckville.

In addition, Emma Loftin of Garrison and Alayna Goolsby of Beckville were acknowledged as the Newcomers of the Year. Amy English of Garrison and Casey Falgout of Beckville received the honor of Coaches of the Year. The awards were determined by the voting of the district’s coaches.

All-District Team Selections

The All-District First Team includes players from various schools within the district. From Beckville, Landrie Dennard and Alex Samford were selected. Elysian Fields contributed Madison Owens and Cloey Davis, while Garrison had Jimena Rivera, Meagan Curbow, and Sarah Traxler on the roster. Timpson’s representatives are Taylor Stewart and Paige Molloy, and Waskom’s selection was Michelle Hernandez.

The Second Team featured players such as Kaylen Commander and Libby Simms from Elysian Fields, along with Lexe Williamson from Garrison. From Gary, Katherine Philley, Cheyenne Woodfin, and Kyleigh Woodfin were recognized. The Timpson representatives included Ceale Kruse and Caroline Timmons, with Waskom’s Payton Myers and Jada Spencer rounding out the team.

A notable mention goes to players receiving Honorable Mentions, including Beckville’s Emily Grandgeorge and Kaitlyn Mauritezen, and Elysian Fields’ Kaleigh Presley, Kaleigh Merritt, and Kirsten Commander. Garrison’s Haley Huffman and Gary’s Molly Powell also made the list, along with several players from Timpson and Waskom.

Academic All-District Recognition

In addition to athletic achievements, several players were recognized for their academic performance. The Academic All-District list from Beckville includes Kellen Weaver, Carli Tuttle, Alex Samford, Maci Morris, Emily Grandgeorge, Amy Pelzl, Alayna Goolsby, and Adyson Davis. Elysian Fields’ honorees include Kaleigh Presley, Kaylen Commander, Cloey Davis, and others. Garrison’s list features Jimena Rivera and J’Khalyn Davis, among others.
