UPDATE: Halifax County has just announced the appointment of Quentin Jones as the new Parks and Recreation Director, effective January 2, 2024. This decision follows an extensive recruitment process aimed at enhancing the county’s community engagement through its parks and recreational programs.

County Manager Dia Denton praised Jones, noting, “He has a unique opportunity to build and grow the county’s new parks and recreation department. In addition to his professional qualifications, Jones is a passionate sports fan, supporting the UNC Tar Heels and the Atlanta Braves. He is also an active participant in sports, enjoying pickleball and having coached high school basketball for four years at Knightdale High School.
