UPDATE: The Erie County Legislature has just approved an amended $2.1 billion budget for 2026, establishing a new property tax rate of $3.09 per $1,000 of assessed value, down from $3.29. This significant decision was reached Thursday morning with a vote of 7 to 4, signaling a commitment to financial relief for county residents.

In another major development, Buffalo Mayor-elect Sean Ryan will be inaugurated at the historic Kleinhans Music Hall on January 1, 2024, at noon.
