URGENT UPDATE: Candidate forums are set to take place across Summit County as the April 7 municipal elections approach, providing voters with critical opportunities to meet the candidates and discuss town issues.

Breckenridge will host a forum on March 11 at 5 p.m. at Colorado Mountain College. Residents will vote for three town council seats from a pool of five candidates. This free event will allow candidates to share their views on pressing community matters and outline their priorities. The forum is expected to last about two hours and will also be streamed live on Zoom at TinyUrl.com/BreckForum26.

In Frisco, residents will engage in a forum on March 18 at 5 p.m., taking place at Slopeside Hall at Frisco Adventure Park. With twelve candidates vying for four town council seats, this event will be moderated by Andrew Maciejewski from Summit Daily News and Phil Lindeman from Krystal 93. After the formal proceedings, attendees can interact with candidates one-on-one. Summit County TV will record the event for later viewing on the Frisco government YouTube channel.

Silverthorne will see its forum on March 12 at 5 p.m., where voters will elect three town council members from seven candidates. This event will be co-moderated by Lindeman and Maciejewski, and attendees can enjoy pizza while creating their own “Silverthorne Votes” buttons. A recording of this forum will also be made available afterward.

Lastly, Dillon will host a candidate forum on March 10 from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at the Town Hall. Seven candidates are in the race for the mayoral seat and three council positions. This forum will feature a structured question-and-answer segment, allowing the public to directly engage with candidates. Notably, two candidates are competing for the mayor’s office, while five others are contending for council seats, following a recent recall election that raised concerns among residents regarding local development projects.

These forums are crucial as they provide a platform for candidates to connect with the community, addressing key issues that impact residents’ daily lives. As the election date rapidly approaches, attending these events is vital for voters looking to make informed decisions.

Stay tuned for more updates on the candidates and their platforms as Summit County prepares for this significant municipal election. Share this information to ensure your friends and family are also ready to participate!
