Remembering Leo Max Carlton: A Life of Service and Passion
Leo Max Carlton, a dedicated floor covering specialist and veteran of the United States Army, passed away in 2025 at the age of 83. His life was marked by a commitment to his profession, a love for sailing, and a deep appreciation for literature. Carlton leaves behind a rich legacy through his family and friends who cherished him.
Born in 1942, Carlton spent his career honing his skills in the floor covering industry. His expertise and dedication made him a respected figure among his peers. Outside of work, he enjoyed sailing on his beloved sailboat, a passion that brought him peace and joy. Additionally, he was an avid reader, often immersing himself in various genres of literature, which enriched his life and conversations.
Family and Legacy
Carlton is survived by his brother, Jack Carlton, and his six children: Christy, Dawn, Cheri, Greg, Timothy, and Katherine. Each of them, along with their families, carry forward his legacy. He also leaves behind grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and a wide circle of extended family and friends who will remember him fondly.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Jackie Carlton, and several family members, including his parents, Max and Katherine, his stepmother, Ruth, and siblings, Cathy, Connie, and Michael. His family expressed their gratitude for the time they shared and the memories they created together.
Honoring His Memory
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, an organization dedicated to treating and defeating childhood cancer. This reflects Carlton’s spirit of giving and his desire to help others.
As friends and family come together to celebrate his life, they are reminded of the values he embodied: hard work, dedication, and a passion for life. Whether on the water or in the company of loved ones, Carlton’s presence will be profoundly missed but fondly remembered by all who knew him.
