Hoisington and St. John Dominance Marks High School Basketball Action
The recent high school basketball matches showcased impressive performances from several teams, particularly highlighting Hoisington and St. John. In a thrilling contest, the Hoisington girls secured a 48-39 victory over the Scott City Beavers, with standout player Beck achieving a personal best of 16 points.
In the opening minutes, Scott City struggled to find their rhythm, falling behind early. Hoisington capitalized on this, with Beck and teammate Tianna Lutters, who contributed 10 points, propelling their team to a strong lead. The score at the end of the first quarter was Hoisington 3, Scott City 15, demonstrating a significant gap in momentum. Despite a valiant effort from Scott City, including Gentry‘s 12 points, they could not close the gap.
The final score reflected both teams’ efforts: Hoisington 48, Scott City 39. The scoring breakdown for Hoisington included Maier and Hanzlick with 7 points each, while Bittel added 6 points, showcasing a well-rounded offensive effort.
St. John Girls’ Impressive Win

St. John’s strong performance was evident as they built a commanding lead of 47-20 by the time halftime was reached.
