Clarkston Hosts Peaceful Protest for 50501 Movement Today

A peaceful protest is set to take place today in Clarkston from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. The event will occur at the intersection of Bridge and Fifth streets, aiming to raise awareness about the events of January 6, 2021, when a violent insurrection occurred in Washington, D.C. Organizer Jan Durham emphasized that this protest is part of a broader nationwide effort linked to the 50501 movement.

The 50501 movement is a grassroots initiative opposing the policies of former President Donald Trump’s administration. Named for its objective of staging “50 protests, 50 states, 1 movement,” the initiative seeks to unite individuals who share concerns about the direction of U.S. governance.
