Tyrese Maxey Named Eastern Conference Player of the Week Again

Philadelphia 76ers guard Tyrese Maxey has been named the Eastern Conference Player of the Week for the second time this season. This accolade highlights his outstanding performance during the past week, where he averaged an impressive 34.7 points on 61.2% shooting along with 8.7 assists, 6.7 rebounds, 1.7 steals, and 1.3 blocks over three games. The Sixers secured all three victories during this stretch, defeating the Memphis Grizzlies, Dallas Mavericks, and New York Knicks.

Maxey’s remarkable week included a career milestone, as he recorded at least 30 points and 10 assists in consecutive games for the first time. His standout performance culminated with a game against the Knicks at Madison Square Garden on January 1, 2024, where he scored 36 points, contributing significantly to the Sixers’ success.

Upcoming Challenges for the Sixers

The Sixers are set to face the struggling Denver Nuggets next, who have lost their last two games and four of their past five. The Nuggets will be missing their star center Nikola Jokic, expected to be sidelined for four to six weeks due to a hyperextended knee.
