Richie’s Hot Chicken Expands with New Location in Alamo Ranch
Richie’s Hot Chicken is set to open a new location in the Alamo Ranch neighborhood of San Antonio, marking its second brick-and-mortar establishment. Scheduled to debut at 11310 Culebra Road early this year, this Nashville-style chicken eatery has gained popularity since launching its first physical location on Huebner Road in 2024.
Owner Jen Zuniga revealed the excitement surrounding this expansion during an interview with What Now San Antonio. After spending two years operating a food truck in the Shaenfield area, Zuniga expressed her desire to return to her original base, noting that Alamo Ranch is a rapidly growing community. “We did want to go back to our home base, and of course, Alamo Ranch is a hot spot. So, why wouldn’t we want to go to a place that’s definitely growing?” Zuniga stated.
The new location will provide a permanent home for the brand, which has been well received for its signature dishes, including the famed “Richie Rich Fries,” chicken sandwiches, and burritos. Zuniga highlighted the delicious offerings, saying, “Everything is delicious, but I would definitely go with our Richie Rich Fries; can’t go wrong with that. Our Rich special is something unique and probably our Mac and Chick bowl, that’s been a big seller.”
As the restaurant prepares for its grand opening, Zuniga mentioned that the process has encountered some delays. “Longer than expected, a little hiccups here and there,” she remarked, emphasizing the team’s commitment to ensuring everything is perfect before welcoming customers.
The new Richie’s Hot Chicken will be situated within a retail strip mall, sharing space with other businesses such as Phở Việt SA and Coco Nail Salon. This strategic location is expected to attract a diverse clientele, further establishing Richie’s as a staple in the San Antonio dining scene.
As anticipation builds for the Alamo Ranch opening, fans of Richie’s Hot Chicken can look forward to enjoying their favorite Nashville-style hot chicken soon. With its established reputation and a commitment to quality, this new venture signifies another step in the brand’s growth within the competitive culinary landscape of San Antonio.
