Rebecca Yarros Announces Return to Writing with New Romance Novel
Author Rebecca Yarros is making a welcomed return to writing after a significant hiatus. However, fans eagerly awaiting the sequel to her popular Empyrean Series will have to hold on a bit longer. Yarros has announced that she is currently focused on a contemporary romance novel before she shifts her attention back to the highly anticipated sequel.
Following a cliffhanger ending that left readers craving more, the Empyrean Series has seen little news since Yarros decided to take a break. Now, her latest update suggests she is ready to return to her craft. In a recent social media post, she expressed her excitement, stating, “Behold, the happy face of the author who finally gets to settle in for months of doing what I do best…playing with my imaginary friends at my desk!!!”
While this announcement might bring relief to her fans, there is a catch. Yarros clarified that her current focus is on a contracted contemporary project. She noted, “For transparency’s sake… I’m currently working on a contracted contemporary, and once I’m done, I’ll be living in the Empyrean world!”
Yarros has previously stated that her break allowed her to reconnect with her writing. She remarked that a contemporary novel she released recently helped her regain her confidence, saying it “really set my feet back down. It reminded me, ‘Hey, you can write a book. You can do this.’”
As she works through her next romance novel, excitement builds for the future of the Empyrean Series. Although there is no confirmed release date for the sequel, Yarros’s commitment to her current project suggests that progress will be made more swiftly than in the past. Fans can expect updates to emerge more regularly as she transitions back into her writing routine.
The timeline for the release of the Empyrean Series Book 4 remains uncertain. Yarros has previously mentioned that her chronic illness affects her writing process, which may contribute to delays. Many speculate that the earliest we might see Book 4 is in 2027, although this remains an optimistic estimate.
As the series nears its conclusion, the complexity of the story is expected to increase, potentially lengthening the time required for writing sequels. Additionally, Yarros’s role as an executive producer may further impact her availability to focus solely on her book series.
With a new contemporary romance on the horizon, readers have much to look forward to. Yarros’s return to writing is a positive sign that she is committed to both her craft and her fans, providing hope for the future of the Empyrean Series.
