Green Street Academy Celebrates 15 Years with Vibrant Gala
Green Street Academy celebrated its 15th anniversary with a lively event known as “The Power of 15 Gala,” held on October 25, 2025, at The Cove at Citron in Baltimore. The gala attracted around 225 guests, who enjoyed a festive atmosphere marked by creative green-themed decorations, symbolizing the school’s identity.
The evening featured a range of activities designed to engage attendees. Guests participated in interactive experiences such as story booths and a flower bar, where they could create their own floral arrangements to take home. The atmosphere was described by the school’s executive director and CEO, Dr. Denisha Logan, as reminiscent of a family reunion, brimming with “love and positive energy.”
“The gala felt like a charged-up family reunion, full of love and positive energy… Seeing family, friends, and supporters, all in one space, celebrating what GSA has done and what we’re building for West Baltimore was magic,” Dr. Logan remarked.
The event also served a significant purpose, raising approximately $40,000 to support the school’s initiatives. The funds will contribute to ongoing programs and projects aimed at enhancing educational opportunities for students.
Attendees were entertained by a performer on stilts, adding a whimsical touch to the celebration. The event also included a Caricature Corner, where guests could have their likenesses drawn as mementos of the occasion.
Prominent figures from the community attended the gala, including members of the Baltimore County Fire Department and various local educators and community leaders. Among them were Tracey Johnson, fire marshal, and Marcus Johnson, assistant fire chief, both of whom engaged with guests throughout the night.
The gala highlighted the strong connections between the school and the surrounding community, showcasing the support Green Street Academy has cultivated over the years.
Looking ahead, Green Street Academy plans to continue its tradition of excellence in education, fostering a supportive environment for its students in West Baltimore. The success of this gala sets a positive tone for future events and initiatives aimed at enriching the educational landscape.
