Fort Worth’s Cinetrea Grace Inspires Creativity Through Arts

Cinetrea Grace, the founder and CEO of 619 Productions, is making significant strides in Fort Worth by providing artistic opportunities to underserved communities. Since its establishment in 2001, the organization has offered free and low-cost arts programming, including theater, dance, music, and writing classes, catering to children, adults, and seniors.

On October 13, 2025, Grace shared her mission during a visit to her office in east Fort Worth. Her commitment to fostering creativity stems from a lifelong passion for the arts, which she aims to pass on to others. “My love has always been community,” Grace stated. “It’s important not just for the kids, but the adults to have an outlet.”

Over the years, 619 Productions has served more than 10,000 students in areas such as the Handley and Como community centers. Grace’s approach focuses on transforming lives through artistic expression, helping many discover their talents and find joy in creativity.

Empowering Through the Arts

Grace’s journey in the arts began in her childhood. Raised in a family that cherished music, she was influenced by her father, who played the conga drums. This early exposure ignited her passion for the arts, which was further fueled by her drama teacher, Mary Porter, at the Leadership Academy at Forest Oak Middle School. “My teacher was the spark that lit the match,” Grace recalled.

With over three decades of experience as a professional artist, Grace has appeared in commercials, short films, and stage productions. Her work has included music recording and coordinating TV productions for major networks in Los Angeles. Following personal tragedies, including the deaths of nine family members and friends in the late 1990s, Grace channeled her grief into her community work, providing artistic opportunities for those with limited access.

One notable success story is that of Samille Kotei, who became involved with 619 Productions as a dancer during her time as captain of the drill team at Dunbar High School. “Ms. Cinetrea is a very hands-on, reality-driven person,” Kotei said. “She’s motivating, uplifting, and pulls out the best in anybody.” Kotei’s journey, supported by Grace’s mentorship, has led her to become an actress and singer in Atlanta, and she now serves as the board president of 619 Productions.

A Vision for the Future

As Grace continues to inspire creativity within Fort Worth, she harbors ambitions of establishing a large-scale performing arts complex. While the exact location remains uncertain, her vision reflects her unwavering commitment to ensuring a flourishing artistic community. “I strive to ensure I have tears of creativity constantly flowing,” she expressed, highlighting her belief that a true artist never ceases to innovate and grow.
