Cincinnati’s Feast of Carols Celebrates Holiday Spirit with Music
The annual Feast of Carols in Cincinnati is set to return with a vibrant celebration of holiday music. Scheduled for performances on December 6 and December 7, 2023, this cherished event features a rich assortment of festive choral works. It has become a staple of the city’s winter concert scene, delighting audiences for over a century.
This year, the concerts will take place on both days in back-to-back shows, showcasing a diverse array of holiday classics. The performances will feature the harmonious voices of the CCM Chamber Choir, CCM Chorale, and the Cincinnati Youth Choir, among others. Local high school students will also contribute to the musical festivities, enhancing the community spirit of the event.
On December 6, the School for Creative and Performing Arts will perform at the 2 p.m. show, followed by Elder High School at 5 p.m.. The following day, Walnut Hills High School and Anderson High School will take the stage at 2 p.m. and 5 p.m., respectively. In addition to these talented students, the performances will feature the Seven Hills Brass and several acclaimed guest choirs, promising to enrich the concert experience with their musical talents.
Joe Miller, the Director of Choral Studies at the College-Conservatory of Music (CCM), emphasized the significance of this event, stating, “This program is a cherished holiday and family tradition. Come and join us for an afternoon of joyful music that will awaken your holiday season.” Miller’s words reflect the deep-rooted connection the community has with the Feast of Carols, as families and friends gather to share in the joy of live music.
The concert not only highlights the talents of local choirs but also fosters a sense of unity and celebration among attendees. With a legacy that spans generations, the Feast of Carols continues to be a beloved tradition, drawing crowds eager to embrace the festive spirit of the season through the power of music.
