A.J. Brown Shares Optimism for Eagles’ Future on Podcast
In a recent appearance on Micah Parsons’ podcast, A.J. Brown expressed his enthusiasm for returning to the Philadelphia Eagles for the upcoming 2026 season. This marks Brown’s first public comments following a challenging season, where he faced both performance issues and trade speculation.
During the podcast, recorded in San Francisco, Brown reflected on his experiences and aspirations. He discussed his goals for the offseason, indicating a commitment to the Eagles. “As an offense, we just come back and really watch the tape and rediscover ourselves,” he stated. “We have great leaders in our locker room, and I’m fortunate to be a part of that.”
Brown’s interview follows the Eagles’ narrow loss to the Chargers on December 8, 2025, a game that concluded a disappointing season for the team. Despite finishing with 1,003 yards—his fourth consecutive season surpassing the 1,000-yard mark—he acknowledged his slow start, which saw him ranked 37th among wide receivers after nine games, with only 408 yards.
Parsons posed questions about the coaching changes within the organization, particularly regarding the transition from offensive coordinator Kevin Patullo to Sean Mannion. Although he did not mention Patullo directly, Brown conveyed a positive outlook on the coaching staff. “I’m always excited. Sometimes change is not a bad thing,” he said, emphasizing his respect for Patullo while expressing anticipation for the new season.
Reflecting on his journey to Philadelphia, Brown described the warmth of the city and its fans. “When I got to Philly, man, Philly welcomed me with open arms. That’s home, man, and I love them,” he said. This sentiment comes amidst reports that he had requested a trade during the last season, though Parsons did not press him on that topic.
The podcast also revealed a noteworthy anecdote from Parsons, who mentioned he nearly joined the Eagles before being traded to the Packers. He stated that the trade was contingent on the Eagles’ unwillingness to part with defensive tackle Jalen Carter, underscoring the close ties and friendships that influence player decisions.
Brown’s remarks highlight a period of reflection and growth following a challenging season. “You have good days, you have bad days,” he noted, referring to his performance in the wild-card loss to the 49ers, where he managed only three catches for 25 yards. He emphasized the importance of learning from both highs and lows in his career.
As the Eagles look toward the future, Brown’s positive outlook may serve as a rallying point for the team and its supporters. His commitment to improvement and accountability reflects a desire to contribute significantly in the upcoming season. With the offseason now underway, fans are eager to see how these developments unfold as the Eagles aim to enhance their performance in 2026.
