Blue Grotto Capital Boosts Stake in Okta with Major Share Purchase

Blue Grotto Capital LLC has significantly increased its investment in Okta, Inc. (NASDAQ: OKTA) by acquiring an additional 112,801 shares in the second quarter of 2023. This acquisition marks an impressive 80.6% rise in Blue Grotto’s holdings, bringing its total ownership to 252,801 shares. As a result, Okta now constitutes approximately 3.1% of Blue Grotto’s investment portfolio, making it the firm’s 13th largest holding. Blue Grotto’s stake in Okta was valued at around $25.27 million as of the last reporting period.

For example, Adage Capital Partners GP L.L.C. expanded its stake by an astounding 300% during the same quarter, resulting in ownership of 100,000 shares valued at approximately $9.99 million. Currently, Okta’s shares opened at $90.18 on the latest trading day. The company’s stock has experienced fluctuations, with a 52-week low of $75.05 and a high of $127.57. The market capitalization stands at approximately $15.79 billion, with a price-to-earnings ratio of 82.73.

On December 2, 2023, Okta reported its quarterly earnings, revealing earnings per share (EPS) of $0.82, surpassing analysts’ expectations of $0.76.
