Apple has officially launched its Apple Music Replay 2025, a feature designed to give users insights into their musical preferences over the past year. This latest rollout, announced on October 10, 2025, aims to compete with similar offerings from rival platforms such as Spotify, YouTube, and Amazon Music.

The revamped Replay experience provides users with a comprehensive overview of their listening habits. Highlights include their most streamed songs, artists, and albums. Notably, the new “Discovery” section identifies new artists that users have explored, while the “Loyalty” segment showcases those artists that listeners consistently return to. Additionally, the “Comebacks” feature emphasizes artists who have re-entered users’ playlists.

Users will also find valuable statistics, such as total minutes listened, the number of unique artists explored, and their longest consecutive listening streak. The Apple Music Replay dashboard is accessible through the Home tab of the app, offering not just a yearly summary but also monthly highlights and a “Replay All Time” playlist featuring the most played tracks since joining the service.

Insights for Artists

In a move to enhance artist engagement, Apple Music Replay will provide musicians with new analytics. They will gain access to metrics indicating listenership growth and year-over-year performance. This includes details on total listeners, geographical reach, and listening minutes.

The standout track for 2025 on Apple Music is “APT” by ROSÉ and Bruno Mars. Following closely are Kendrick Lamar and SZA‘s “luther” in second place, with Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars’ “Die With A Smile” securing third. Other notable entries include Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us” at number four and Billie Eilish’s “Birds of a Feather” at fifth.

Market Timing and Competition

The launch of Apple Music Replay comes shortly after YouTube introduced its 2025 Recaps and on the same day that Amazon Music revealed its own yearly summaries. These coordinated releases appear aimed at gaining traction in the competitive landscape of music streaming, particularly in anticipation of Spotify’s popular year-end Wrapped feature.

As music platforms continue to innovate, these annual recaps not only highlight user preferences but also foster social media sharing, enhancing user engagement across various channels. With the music industry evolving rapidly, Apple’s new features may reshape how listeners interact with their favorite artists and tracks, further solidifying its position in the market.
