Four Teenagers Detained in Connection with Vehicle Thefts in New Castle

Four juveniles were arrested in New Castle early on October 28, 2025, following a series of alleged vehicle thefts in the area. Officers from the New Castle County Division of Police responded to reports of suspicious activity in the Eden Park Gardens neighborhood shortly after midnight.

Upon arrival, police discovered an unoccupied **Kia Sorento** with a broken window parked in the middle of Albany Avenue. As officers approached, the suspects fled on foot, leading to a brief pursuit through the neighborhood. Authorities successfully apprehended all four individuals without further incident.

During the investigation, police recovered various tools, gloves, and headlamps believed to have been used in the attempted thefts. Authorities confirmed that the **Kia Sorento** had been reported stolen from a community in **Wilmington**. Additionally, a second vehicle, another **Kia** with a damaged window, was found nearby.

The suspects, comprising three **14-year-old males** and one **16-year-old male**, all from Wilmington, face multiple charges. These include attempted theft of a motor vehicle, receiving stolen property, conspiracy in the second degree, resisting arrest, and criminal mischief. Investigators suspect that this group may also be linked to further thefts or attempted thefts in the vicinity.
