Miss Nebraska Audrey Eckert Crowned Miss USA 2025 in Reno
BREAKING: Miss Nebraska, Audrey Eckert, has been crowned the new Miss USA 2025 during an electrifying ceremony in Reno, Nevada, on Friday night. This exciting announcement comes as the pageant seeks to revamp its image and processes under new leadership.
Eckert, a 23-year-old social media and marketing coordinator for the Thai fashion brand Sapahn, will represent the United States at the Miss Universe 2025 pageant, scheduled for November 21, 2025. The momentous occasion took place at the Grand Sierra Resort, where she was crowned by the current Miss Universe, Victoria Kjær Theilvig.
In a significant twist, former Miss USA Alma Cooper shared on Instagram that she declined to participate in this year’s pageant but was honored during the finals. Eckert’s victory marks a fresh chapter for the Miss USA organization, which is striving for greater transparency following past controversies.
This year’s competition saw 51 contestants compete in various categories, including swimsuit, evening gown, and interviews. The new CEO, Thom Brodeur, has eliminated the traditional selection committee, allowing judges to make final decisions solely based on contestants’ performances.
In an interview with Business Insider, Brodeur stated, “What that means, very simply, is who the judges pick is the winner of Miss USA and Miss Teen USA.” This move aims to restore faith in the pageant’s integrity.
The judging panel included notable personalities such as actress Nia Sanchez, “Dancing With the Stars” pro Sasha Farber, and fashion designer Kenneth Barlis. They posed challenging questions to contestants, marking a shift from previous formats. Eckert’s final question addressed the legacy of her generation, stating, “Our generation is, without a doubt, adaptable.”
Eckert’s response highlighted her commitment to digital safety, emphasizing her role in teaching young athletes how to navigate the online world. She added, “Learning to grow up in a digital world requires you to be adaptable, just like the job of Miss USA.”
This year’s pageant aims to redefine the Miss USA experience amidst previous scandals, including allegations of rigging and sexual harassment. Brodeur expressed optimism for a new era, stating, “Time is going to prove this out… my goal is to reestablish Miss USA and Miss Teen USA as America’s It Girls.”
Eckert’s reign begins with a flight to Thailand for the upcoming Miss Universe competition, which promises to be an exciting journey for the newly crowned queen. With her fresh perspectives and commitment to adaptability, she is poised to make a significant impact on and off the stage.
Stay tuned for more updates as Eckert embarks on her Miss Universe journey and continues the legacy of Miss USA.
