Vehicle Crashes into White House Security Gates; Driver Arrested
UPDATE: A vehicle crashed into security gates outside the White House last night, prompting a swift response from the US Secret Service. The incident occurred shortly after 10:30 PM, resulting in the arrest of the driver, whose identity has not yet been released.
Authorities confirmed the driver was detained immediately after driving a dark sedan into the security barrier located at the intersection of 17th and E Streets in Washington, DC. “At approximately 10:37 PM, an individual drove a vehicle into the Secret Service vehicle gate located at 17th & E St, NW, in Washington, DC. The individual was arrested and the vehicle was assessed and deemed safe. Our investigation into the cause of this collision is ongoing,”
stated the US Secret Service.
The area surrounding the crash site remains locked down as police work to tow the vehicle away, ensuring public safety and maintaining order in the vicinity.
