Producers Confirm Oklahoma as Prime Location for ‘Mickey Brasch’
UPDATE: The producers of the upcoming film ‘Mickey Brasch’ have declared Oklahoma the ideal backdrop for their movie, with filming currently underway in multiple locations. The production crew is in the midst of a 15-day shooting schedule, and they are just three days away from wrapping up.
Filming kicked off at a bowling alley in Chandler, Oklahoma, where actors, directors, and a dedicated crew have been bringing the script to life. Writer and star Matthew Del Negro expressed his excitement, stating, “We’ve had good luck with this crew.” Del Negro has been developing ‘Mickey Brasch’ for over a decade, and it took a collaborative effort with director Blake Robbins to finalize the vision.
Robbins emphasized the unique charm of Oklahoma, stating, “You can’t find this anywhere except here.” The film will primarily be shot in Guthrie and Edmond, showcasing the local culture and community. The production has a modest budget of just under $150,000, funded in part through a successful Kickstarter campaign.
During the shoot, actress Kate Alpers humorously addressed her character’s intense demeanor, saying, “Yes, I’ve had people coming up to me all shoot long and ask, ‘Are you okay?'” Alpers’ portrayal of a troubled teenager is drawing attention, and the crew believes the local people and scenery will enhance the film’s authenticity.
As the film gears up for a planned release in fall 2026, the production team is excited about the support from the local community. They invite fans to follow their journey on the movie’s official Instagram page for updates.
The success of ‘Mickey Brasch’ could shine a spotlight on Oklahoma’s growing film industry. With passionate individuals working together, this project may inspire more filmmakers to explore the potential of Oklahoma as a filming location.
