Spurs’ Jeremy Sochan Out for Season Opener with Wrist Injury
UPDATE: San Antonio Spurs forward Jeremy Sochan will miss the team’s season opener against the Dallas Mavericks on October 25, 2023, due to a sprained left wrist sustained during practice. The injury occurred during a five-on-five drill as Sochan was nearing a return from a previous calf strain.
Sochan, who was sidelined since August due to the calf injury sustained while training with the Polish national team, had already missed the EuroBasket tournament and the entire preseason. His absence is a significant blow for the Spurs as they kick off their season.
In addition to Sochan, the Spurs will also be without De’Aaron Fox, who is rehabilitating a strained hamstring. Both players are expected to rejoin the lineup by the second or third game of the season, providing a much-needed boost for the team.
Last season, Sochan averaged 11.4 points, 6.5 rebounds, and 2.4 assists over 54 games, highlighting his importance to the Spurs’ performance on the court.
Fans and analysts alike will be closely monitoring the recovery timelines for both players as the Spurs look to start their season on a strong note despite these early setbacks. Stay tuned for updates as the situation develops.
