Metropolitan Opera Brings ‘The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier & Clay’ to Cinemas Worldwide

The Metropolitan Opera will showcase the opera “The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier & Clay” as part of its Live in HD series. This highly anticipated performance, recorded earlier this season, is set to debut in cinemas on January 24, 2024, reaching approximately 800 theaters globally.

Composed by Mason Bates with a libretto by Gene Scheer, the opera features the renowned Yannick Nézet-Séguin as the conductor. The cast is led by baritone Andrzej Filończyk in the role of Joe Kavalier and tenor Miles Mykkanen as Sam Clay. The performance also includes soprano Lauren Snouffer as Sarah Kavalier, mezzo-soprano Sun-Ly Pierce as Rosa Saks, baritone Edward Nelson as Tracy Bacon, and bass-baritones Patrick Carfizzi and Craig Colclough portraying Sheldon Anapol and Gerhard, respectively.

In a special presentation directed by Gary Halvorson, audiences can expect exclusive behind-the-scenes content during intermission, enhancing the viewing experience in cinemas.
