Türkiye’s Inter Medya and Rise Studios Join Forces for New Drama
Inter Medya, a leading Turkish content production and distribution company, has announced a co-production partnership with Dubai-based Rise Studios. This collaboration will focus on the ambitious Turkish drama series, Caged Love (Tutsak Sevda), with production slated to begin in January 2024. The agreement was publicly unveiled at the Red Souk market during the Red Sea International Film Festival held in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
The narrative of Caged Love centers on a young woman who, wrongfully accused, is compelled to flee her reality. To safeguard a vulnerable girl left without anyone, she assumes a new identity. As she navigates the complexities of a powerful family, she builds a life founded on untruths. Complications arise as the aloof man of the house keeps her distanced, until an unexpected attraction begins to develop. As love flourishes within the confines of her significant secret, she faces a poignant choice between her assumed life and the affection she never anticipated.
Inter Medya will take on the role of executive producer for Caged Love and will manage its global distribution. The company’s founder and CEO, Can Okan, expressed enthusiasm about the venture, stating, “We are excited to launch this strategic partnership with Rise Studios. Our shared vision and commitment to creating content with true global reach give us full confidence that this collaboration will produce a high-caliber project.”
The collaboration represents a significant step for both companies. Amanda Turnbull, founder and CEO of Rise Studios, emphasized their mutual goal of producing impactful, cross-border content. In her statement, she noted, “This partnership reflects Rise Studios’ commitment to investing in stories with global resonance, grounded in emotion and designed to travel. Caged Love is the first step in what we believe will be a powerful and long-term collaboration.”
Founded in 1992, Inter Medya has established itself as one of Türkiye’s foremost content producers, with a strong emphasis on drama series produced in Turkey. Meanwhile, Rise Studios, a newer entity established in 2022, has rapidly made a name for itself in the region with projects like Palestine 36, Once Upon a Time in Gaza, All But Divorced, and A Nose and Three Eyes.
As both Inter Medya and Rise Studios move forward with Caged Love, they aim to create a series that not only captivates audiences but also underscores the potential for collaborative storytelling across borders. Further details regarding casting and international rollout plans will be announced in due course, marking an exciting new chapter for both companies in the global entertainment landscape.
