Holiday Express Returns to Blackberry Farm in Aurora This Week
UPDATE: The highly anticipated Holiday Express celebration is set to kick off at Blackberry Farm in Aurora, Illinois, this week, bringing festive cheer to families across the region. The event opens its doors on December 1, 2023, and features a Special Needs Night on Friday, creating a welcoming environment for guests with sensory sensitivities.
Starting Saturday, December 2, the Holiday Express will run every Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. and on Saturdays and Sundays from 2 to 7 p.m. until December 21. Tickets are priced at $10 for individuals aged one year and older and can be purchased online at www.blackberryfarm.info/special-events/holiday-express/.
The event has become a beloved community tradition since its inception in 2006, with the popular holiday train ride returning alongside a host of other festive activities. Becky Harling, Recreation Superintendent at Blackberry Farm, highlighted the extensive preparations that began over a month ago to ensure the event is a memorable experience for all.
“We’ve continued to add lights and different photo opportunity displays to the park,” Harling stated. “The size of our park is really attractive to people. You can do all the different attractions without having to go across acres of land, which is really nice.”
Families can look forward to several attractions, including the new train photo op featuring an old engine, alongside traditional favorites like the Candy Cane Village playground and the Sugar Plum Playland at Little Farmer’s Junction. Children will also have the chance to color a Holiday Express coloring book inside the Huntoon House and enjoy holiday stories at the Gingerbread School House.
For those eager to meet Santa, he will be available at the North Pole Oasis, also known as the Carriage Museum, for photos every day the event is open. Harling emphasized the event’s growing recognition, noting that many locals are still discovering Blackberry Farm for the first time.
The Holiday Express promises to be a delightful outing for families, combining a magical holiday atmosphere with accessible experiences for all. As the excitement builds, make sure to grab your tickets and be part of this cherished community event.
Stay tuned for updates on Holiday Express as it unfolds, and spread the word about this festive celebration that appeals to both local and regional visitors!
