URGENT UPDATE: Pharrell Williams is set to auction five exclusive pairs of Air Jordans, made specifically for basketball legend Michael Jordan, from November 6 through November 18. This auction, hosted by Williams’ auction house JOOPITER, follows the record-breaking sale of a signed Michael Jordan rookie card for $2.5 million in June.

Among the five pairs are rare samples, three autographed pairs, and two game-worn shoes from pivotal Chicago Bulls playoff games. Notably, one unique item includes Air Jordan IX baseball cleats worn by Ed Smith, a former Orlando Cubs utility player turned NFL tight end. Another incredible highlight is a pair of Air Jordan VIIIs worn during Game 1 of the 1993 NBA Playoffs against the Atlanta Hawks, a gift to Jordan’s security guard, John Michael Wozniak.

This auction isn’t just about footwear; it encapsulates a significant narrative in sports history. One of the signed pairs features a sample version of the iconic Jordan Air 1s, while the other two pairs are sample Air Jordan XIs. These include one worn during the Bulls’ historic 1995-96 season, where they achieved an impressive 72-10 record, and another worn in the playoffs as they triumphed over the Seattle Supersonics, four games to two.

Caitlin Donovan, JOOPITER’s Global Head of Sale, emphasized the cultural significance of these shoes, stating,

“Each of these shoes reflect a chapter in Michael Jordan’s evolution as not only an athlete, but as a global icon whose influence continues to shape culture.”

This sentiment resonates deeply with sports collectors and fans alike, highlighting how the world of sports memorabilia has become a powerful way to connect with greatness.

As the auction draws near, collectors and fans worldwide are urged to stay tuned for this extraordinary opportunity to own a piece of basketball history. The auction is expected to attract significant interest, making it a must-watch event in the sports collecting community.

This is your chance to witness history being made—mark your calendars for November 6 and prepare for an unforgettable auction experience!
