Shedeur Sanders Sends Urgent Message to Browns Amid QB Struggles
UPDATE: Tensions are rising within the Cleveland Browns organization as rookie quarterback Dillon Gabriel struggles in his starting role, prompting calls for a change. Fans and analysts alike are urging head coach Kevin Stefanski to consider fellow rookie Shedeur Sanders as the team limps to a 1-3 record since Gabriel took over after the trade of Joe Flacco to the Cincinnati Bengals.
Gabriel’s recent performances have been lackluster, with just 683 yards, 4 touchdowns, and 2 interceptions over four games, leading to an average of only 246.5 yards and 17.5 points per game. The urgency for a change has never been clearer as fans express their frustration, calling for a spark in the offense.
On social media, Browns reporter Brad Stainbrook of ESPN Cleveland has joined the chorus, stating, “I’ve seen enough of Dillon Gabriel. It’s time for the Browns to start getting Shedeur Sanders ready after the bye week.” His Instagram post advocating for Sanders gained traction, especially after Sanders himself liked the post, signaling his agreement.
“Gabriel’s had his shot, and the team feels flat. Let the rookie learn on the fly, make mistakes, and grow,” Stainbrook added, urging for a shift before the upcoming games.
Sanders, who has yet to play in a regular-season game, made headlines earlier when he declared he could outperform many starting quarterbacks in the league today. In his lone preseason start, he showcased his potential, completing 14 of 23 passes for 138 yards and 2 touchdowns in a decisive 30-10 victory over the Carolina Panthers.
However, Sanders’ performance in the preseason finale was hampered, completing only 3 of 6 passes for 14 yards under challenging circumstances. Still, many believe he deserves a chance to lead the team, especially with the current struggles of Gabriel.
As the Browns prepare for their next matchup, the focus will be on whether Stefanski will make the move to start Sanders. Fans are eager for change, and the clock is ticking as the team seeks to turn their season around. The spotlight is on the Browns to make a decision that could reshape their offensive future.
Stay tuned for more updates on this developing story as the Browns approach their bye week and consider their quarterback options.
