Santa Clarita Chamber Honors Veterans at 15th Salute to Patriots
The Santa Clarita Valley Chamber of Commerce, in collaboration with the city of Santa Clarita, has announced the honorees for the 15th Annual Salute to Patriots. This event recognizes veterans who have shown exceptional dedication to their country and the local business community. The celebration is set for 4 p.m. on Wednesday at the SCV Senior Center at Bella Vida, with registration starting at 3:30 p.m.
This year’s honorees, selected from nominations submitted throughout October, include: Camille Applin-Jones, Juan Blanco, Robert Lasher, Vernon Charles Miller, Anthony Straight, Deputy Keith Wells, and Eric White. Each of these individuals has demonstrated remarkable service beyond their military commitments, contributing positively to the Santa Clarita community.
Di Thompson, chair of the SCV Chamber board for 2025, expressed pride in this year’s selections. “This year’s honorees represent the very best of Santa Clarita, individuals who have served with distinction and continue to make an impact through leadership and community service,” she stated. The Salute to Patriots serves both as a tribute to these veterans and as a call to action, inspiring others to emulate their service.
The nomination process allowed chamber members and local residents to honor veterans who exemplify continuous service. From the nominations received, seven outstanding individuals were chosen for recognition. Notably, nominations that were not selected will remain on file for future events, ensuring that every story of service is duly acknowledged.
The chamber’s president and CEO, Ivan Volschenk, emphasized the significance of honoring veterans. “Our veterans are pillars of our community. Their courage, sacrifice, and unwavering commitment remind us what true service means,” he remarked. “We owe them our deepest gratitude. Honoring them brings us together in appreciation and pride for all they have given.”
Sponsorship opportunities and tickets for the event are available. The chamber encourages community members, organizations, and businesses to attend and show their support for local veterans. Details regarding the event and registration can be found on the chamber’s official website, www.scvchamber.com, under the Events tab.
This event not only highlights the contributions of veterans but also reinforces the community’s commitment to honoring those who have served.
