Grupo Frontera Partners With The Orchard for Global Distribution

Tex-Mex music group Grupo Frontera has signed a significant worldwide distribution agreement with The Orchard, a subsidiary of Sony Music. This partnership encompasses both upcoming releases and the band’s existing catalog, facilitating their international reach and access to a comprehensive suite of distribution services.
As Grupo Frontera prepares to unveil their third studio album, Lo Que Me Falta Por Llorar, scheduled for release on October 23, 2023, at 20:00 EST, this deal coincides with the launch of their new label, BorderTown Records. The album promises to explore themes of love, loss, and resilience across 13 tracks, described by the band as a transformation of “melancholy into rhythm and vulnerability into strength.”
Collaborations and Anticipated Hits
The album features an impressive lineup of collaborations, including notable artists like Ozuna, Myke Towers, and Tito Double P. Fans have already been introduced to the first single, “No Lo Ves,” featuring Ozuna, alongside the recent hit “Lalala.” With a history of independent music releases, Grupo Frontera’s debut album was launched under indie label VHR Music in 2023, and they self-released the previous year’s project, Jugando.
In a statement regarding the new partnership, Grupo Frontera expressed their enthusiasm, stating, “This new partnership with The Orchard marks an exciting new era for Grupo Frontera. It comes at the perfect time with the release of our new album. This collaboration represents growth, independence, and a global vision. We’ve always believed our music could travel beyond borders, and now we have the tools to create authentically, reach new audiences, and stay true to our roots. Our story began at the border, and now it continues around the world.”
Recognition and Future Performances
Claudia Ochoa, Vice President of The Orchard Mexico, commended the band’s innovative approach, stating, “Grupo Frontera’s sound, blending traditional norteño with global rhythms, has redefined Mexican music. Their work transcends cultural and generational divides, resonating with listeners through life’s diverse moments. We couldn’t be more excited to welcome Grupo Frontera into The Orchard family and help spread their music to new audiences around the world.”
Formed in 2022 in Edinburg, Texas, Grupo Frontera gained significant attention with their viral rendition of Morat’s “No Se Va” on TikTok and collaborations with major artists, including Bad Bunny. Their track “Un x100to” became a top-five hit on the Billboard Hot 100. Known for their unique fusion of norteño, cumbia, and modern Latin sounds, the band has received several Latin Grammy Awards and is slated to perform at the 2025 Billboard Latin Music Awards, taking place at the James L. Knight Center in Miami on October 23, 2023.
As Grupo Frontera embarks on this new chapter with The Orchard, the music world eagerly anticipates the impact their upcoming album will have on both their career and the broader landscape of Latin music.
