Jon Bon Jovi Announces 2026 Tour Following Vocal Cord Surgery
Jon Bon Jovi is set to embark on his first tour in four years, beginning in July 2026. This tour marks a significant milestone for the singer, who underwent major vocal cord surgery in 2022 after a doctor revealed that one of his vocal cords was atrophying. Following extensive rehabilitation, Bon Jovi is ready to return to the stage, starting with four nights at Madison Square Garden in New York before heading to cities in the UK and Ireland, including Edinburgh, Dublin, and London.
Tour Details and Personal Reflections
In an interview at Wembley Stadium, where Bon Jovi will conclude the “Forever” Tour in September 2026, the frontman expressed his excitement about reconnecting with audiences. “It’s going to be good,” he stated, emphasizing the joy and gratitude he feels about performing again. He highlighted the significance of the connection between himself and the audience, noting that this energy has been sorely missed during his time away from the stage.
Bon Jovi explained that the tour has a personal aspect for him, as he will be able to sleep in his own bed at night while performing in New York. “That was integral to this equation,” he said. The singer is taking a cautious approach, planning to ease back into performing with a limited schedule, aiming to prioritize his health and well-being. “This should be about, don’t even bring a suitcase. We’re just going out for the weekend,” he added.
Band Support and New Album Insights
Reflecting on the support from his bandmates, Bon Jovi noted the loyalty they have shown throughout his recovery. “Here’s a band of brothers who could have said, ‘We’re done,’” he remarked. Instead, they have remained committed, emphasizing that their partnership extends beyond financial motivations. “This ain’t about money, boss, let’s go,” he recalled, highlighting the deepening bonds among the band members.
Regarding their latest album, “Forever (Legendary Edition),” Bon Jovi shared that the reimagined project coincided with the band’s documentary and their 40th anniversary. He described how collaborations with various artists added a new dimension to the record, enhancing its overall quality. “I think they took a great record and made it better,” he stated, revealing that he initially reached out to fellow musician Robbie Williams for collaboration, which opened doors to others.
Bon Jovi expressed admiration for Bruce Springsteen, whom he considers a significant influence. He described the excitement of having Springsteen contribute to the album, especially for the song “Hollow Man.” “He loved that song… even when it was a demo,” Bon Jovi noted, highlighting the deep personal connection he has with Springsteen’s work and the shared history of their musical journeys.
As Bon Jovi prepares for this much-anticipated tour, the singer’s reflections on gratitude, support, and the joy of performing resonate strongly. Fans eagerly await the chance to experience the energy he brings to the stage after a prolonged absence, making the 2026 tour a significant event in the realm of live music.
