Spurs’ $311M Arena Plan Approved by Voters in San Antonio

UPDATE: Voters in Bexar County, Texas, have just approved a monumental proposal that brings the San Antonio Spurs closer to a new downtown arena. In a decisive vote on Tuesday, over 52% of voters supported committing up to $311 million in venue taxes to finance the multipurpose facility.

This development is crucial for the Spurs, who have pledged to invest at least $500 million in the construction, alongside covering any cost overruns. The team’s chairman, Peter J. Holt, expressed enthusiasm for the project, emphasizing its community significance. “We love this city, we love this county, and the county and the city love us back,” he stated after the announcement.
