UPDATE: The No. 8 Oregon Ducks have taken control of their game against Rutgers, leading 42-3 at halftime on October 7, 2023, in Piscataway, New Jersey. Running back Noah Whittington has been the star of the first half, scoring three touchdowns as the Ducks surged ahead after an early setback.

After trailing 3-0 due to a fumble on their third play, Oregon quickly flipped the script, scoring six consecutive touchdowns. Whittington showcased his explosive speed, including a stunning 68-yard touchdown run, marking the longest rush for an Oregon running back since 2021.

Quarterback Dante Moore delivered a stellar performance, going 14 of 18 for 279 yards and four touchdown passes. His connection with tight end Kenyon Sadiq was particularly effective, as Sadiq caught two touchdown passes, contributing to the Ducks’ commanding lead.

The Ducks’ offensive onslaught began with Whittington’s first score, where he sprinted down the left sideline, leaving defenders in his wake. Shortly after, Moore found Sadiq with a perfectly placed pass for another touchdown, pushing the lead to 14-3 by the end of the first quarter.

Oregon continued to roll in the second quarter. A well-executed flea flicker set up Moore’s second touchdown pass to Sadiq, extending their lead further. Moore then connected with wide receiver Dakorien Moore for a 34-yard touchdown, signaling the Ducks’ dominance.

Whittington capped off the first half with two more touchdowns, including a diving catch for a 5-yard score just before halftime. He finished the half with 120 yards on the ground and 9 yards receiving, showcasing a powerful performance that will be hard to forget.

The Ducks look to maintain their momentum in the second half as they aim for a decisive victory on the road. Stay tuned for more updates as this game develops!
