UPDATE: The Los Angeles Dodgers have just announced their starting pitchers for the upcoming World Series, set to begin this Friday, October 27, 2023. Blake Snell will take the mound for Game 1, followed by Yoshinobu Yamamoto in Game 2 against the Toronto Blue Jays, as confirmed by manager Dave Roberts.

This decision mirrors the successful pitching order the Dodgers utilized in their NL Championship Series sweep over the Milwaukee Brewers. Snell displayed dominance in Game 1 of that series, recording 10 strikeouts across eight scoreless innings on October 13, becoming the first Dodgers pitcher in postseason history to complete eight innings while allowing one hit or fewer. Yamamoto also shined in Game 2, delivering a complete game with just three hits, marking the first Dodgers postseason complete game since 2004.

As the Dodgers gear up for the World Series, the team has yet to finalize their starters for Games 3 and 4, which will be held at Dodger Stadium. However, Roberts hinted that Tyler Glasnow and Shohei Ohtani could follow in that order. Ohtani, who recently clinched a second consecutive trip to the World Series for the Dodgers, had an astonishing performance in Game 4 of the NLCS, striking out 10 batters and hitting three home runs.

The Dodgers’ pitching staff has been formidable, combining for an impressive 0.63 ERA against the Brewers, with only two earned runs in 28 2/3 innings. With 35 strikeouts recorded in the NLCS, fans are eagerly anticipating the team’s performance against the Blue Jays.

Roberts also noted that the bullpen lineup is still under discussion, as the Blue Jays feature several right-handed power hitters that the Dodgers did not face in the previous series. “There’s one spot that we could potentially debate, and will continue to debate,” Roberts stated.

Additionally, reliever Tanner Scott has been cleared for the World Series roster after recovering from an emergency surgical procedure. Roberts mentioned that Scott is feeling good and is eager to return, pending final medical approval. “I know that he’s anxious, which is a good thing,” Roberts added.

As the World Series approaches, all eyes will be on the Dodgers’ ace-filled rotation and the strategies they deploy against the Blue Jays. Fans are encouraged to stay tuned for further updates as this thrilling matchup unfolds.
