Headwaters Peace Center Hosts Inclusive Music Events This October

The Headwaters Peace Center in Bemidji will welcome community members to participate in two engaging music events this October. On October 22, an Inclusive Songwriting Workshop will take place from 18:00 to 20:00, followed by an Open Stage Concert on October 24 during the same hours. Both events are free and open to individuals of all ages and skill levels.
The songwriting workshop aims to empower participants by using music as a medium for self-expression and fostering connections within the community. Led by local musicians Myron Swimmer and Shannon Murray, the event promises a welcoming and supportive atmosphere for all attendees. According to a press release, attendees will have the opportunity to explore their creative potential in a collaborative environment.
The Open Stage Concert will follow the workshop, providing a platform for community members to showcase their talents. Performances will include songs, poetry, and other artistic expressions. Swimmer and Murray will also share their music, enriching the community experience with their performances.
Advance registration is encouraged, and interested individuals can RSVP online at https://bit.ly/SingForInclusion. The events are made possible through the support of the voters of Minnesota, thanks to a grant from the Region 2 Arts Council, funded by the Arts & Cultural Heritage Fund.
These initiatives not only promote artistic engagement but also highlight the importance of inclusivity in the arts. Participants from varied backgrounds and experiences are invited to join, making these events a celebration of community spirit and creativity.
