42 Artists Achieve Diamond Status: Drake Leads with 15 Hits!
BREAKING: The Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) has confirmed that only 42 artists have multiple songs certified diamond, highlighting an elite group in the music industry. This milestone is particularly significant as it reflects the evolving landscape of music consumption and streaming.
As of 2024, Drake holds the record with a staggering 15 diamond-certified songs, followed closely by Post Malone with nine. Meanwhile, Rihanna stands out among female artists, now boasting a total of seven diamond songs. This prestigious diamond certification is awarded to songs that have sold at least 10 million equivalent units, including both sales and streaming.
The RIAA first introduced the diamond certification in 1999, and since then, the award has been granted sparingly, underscoring the rarity of this achievement. With over 170 songs now certified diamond, the list of artists with multiple hits in this category continues to grow, as showcased below.
Justin Bieber has made waves with his diamond certifications, being the second artist in history to earn this accolade with “Baby” on May 9, 2013. He later added additional diamonds for “Despacito,” “Sorry,” and “Stay,” bringing his total to four.
Eminem follows closely, with iconic tracks like “Not Afraid,” “Lose Yourself,” and “Love the Way You Lie” achieving diamond status, marking him as a significant figure in hip-hop history.
Notably, Lady Gaga has also made her mark, earning three diamond certifications, including “Bad Romance,” “Poker Face,” and “Just Dance.” Meanwhile, Imagine Dragons holds the record for the most diamond-certified songs by a band with four hits, including “Radioactive” and “Thunder.”
As the music industry continues to evolve, artists like Bruno Mars, Katy Perry, and The Weeknd are also celebrated for their remarkable achievements. Each artist’s journey to diamond status demonstrates the dynamic nature of music consumption in the age of streaming.
What’s next? Industry analysts anticipate that more artists will join this elite club as streaming continues to redefine music sales. With the landscape shifting, fans and followers are eager to see which emerging artists or seasoned veterans will reach diamond status next.
The excitement around these certifications is palpable, reflecting not only individual achievement but also the collective impact of music on culture and society. As the RIAA updates this coveted list, fans are encouraged to share their thoughts on these milestones and celebrate the artists who have defined a generation.
