15-Year-Old Dies After Colleagues Insert High-Pressure Hose

A tragic incident in Turkey has claimed the life of a 15-year-old wood shop apprentice, Muhammed Kendirci, after his co-workers allegedly engaged in a horrific prank. The event occurred at a woodworking center in Sanliurfa on March 3, 2023, when Kendirci was reportedly overpowered by his colleague, Habip Aksoy, and another accomplice. They bound his hands, forcibly removed his pants, and inserted a high-pressure air hose into his rectum, leading to severe internal injuries.

Kendirci was quickly transported to Harran University Research and Application Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries five days later, on March 8, 2023. The shocking nature of this incident has drawn significant attention and condemnation, highlighting the severe consequences of reckless behavior among youth.

Aksoy was initially arrested but released on probation before being detained again. The specific charges against him remain unclear, and the investigation continues. This incident is not isolated; the use of high-pressure air hoses in dangerous pranks has previously resulted in fatalities in other countries.

In a similar case, 16-year-old Motilal Sahu died in 2023 in India when a co-worker inserted a compressed air hose into his rectum “for fun.” This act, committed by Dheerajsingh Goud, led to devastating internal injuries, causing Sahu to collapse and later die from his injuries.

The dangers associated with high-pressure air hoses have been emphasized in another tragic incident from 2017. Wesner Moreira da Silva, a 17-year-old car wash worker, died after colleagues used a high-pressure air hose in a similarly reckless manner. Two individuals, Thiago Giovanni Demarco Sena and Willian Enrique Larrea, were convicted of the crime and sentenced to over 12 years in prison for their involvement in this horrific act.

These incidents underline the urgent need for greater awareness regarding the potential dangers of such pranks and the responsibility individuals have towards one another in social settings. As investigations continue, the community mourns the loss of Kendirci, a young life taken too soon due to a senseless act.
