In an eye-opening move, anchor Hanna Battah, who spent over seven years at NBC 5, confirmed her exit in October. She will now co-anchor ABC’s World News Now and Good Morning America First Look, making her a familiar face on a national stage.
Meanwhile, Cleo Greene, a weekend morning anchor, announced in January that her position was eliminated after joining WFAA in 2018. She quickly transitioned to host NBC 5’s lifestyle show in February, showcasing resilience in a changing industry.
In a series of departures, weekend meteorologist Kyle Roberts left NBC 5 after more than eight years in January. Additionally, Evan Anderson, a reporter and weekend anchor, saw his role eliminated in November, having been part of the station since 2017.
Further shakeups include Keenan Willard, who announced he is leaving NBC 5 for a new role at NBC Los Angeles and Telemundo 52 in November. Evening anchor Nicole Baker revealed in October that she lost her job during layoffs at Paramount Skydance, the parent company of NBC 5, after more than three years with the station.
The weather team is also seeing changes: Scott Padgett, the chief meteorologist for nearly a decade, departed for CBS New York’s First Alert Weather team in May. Meanwhile, meteorologist Brittany Rainey left NBC 5 in November for a position at Nashville’s News Channel 5.
Finally, evening news anchor Enrique Teutelo exited the station in June after an impressive 11 years on air, marking another significant change in the D-FW television landscape.
