UPDATE: Over 100 golfers swung into action at the 6th Annual Animal Compassion Team Golf Tournament in Fresno County on August 7, 2023. This urgent fundraiser at the Belmont Country Club aimed to support a vital cause—providing care for dogs and cats in need of forever homes.

The atmosphere was electric as participants rallied for a common goal, with many returning year after year to support the no-kill shelter. “It’s great to see them; it’s really a friendship type thing,” said Doug Gray, special events coordinator for the Animal Compassion Team. “It just brings me a lot of joy, and I know we have about 30 volunteers out here today, and I know it brings them joy equally as much.”

The initial fundraising target was set at $30,000, but thanks to generous donations from participants and sponsors, organizers anticipate surpassing this goal. The impact of the tournament extends beyond just today as the funds will directly assist in the ongoing care and sheltering of animals awaiting adoption.

This event is more than just a day on the green; it symbolizes community solidarity and compassion for our furry friends. As the tournament wrapped up, the excitement was palpable, with participants eager to contribute to a cause that resonates deeply with animal lovers.
