Free Thanksgiving Meals Served Across Boulder County Today
URGENT UPDATE: Free Thanksgiving meals are being served across Boulder County today as local organizations come together to celebrate the holiday. This is a vital opportunity for those in need to enjoy a festive meal and connect with their community.
Starting at 11:30 a.m., the OUR Center, located at 220 Collyer St., will host its annual Thanksgiving lunch until 1 p.m.. This beloved event is a staple for many in the community, offering warmth and nourishment to all attendees.
In Boulder, the Second Baptist Church is stepping up by providing a traditional Thanksgiving meal at two locations. Meals will be served at 8:30 a.m. at 1212 Canyon Blvd., followed by another serving at 9 a.m. at 5300 Baseline Road. Guests experiencing homelessness are encouraged to attend, as both venues will also offer clothes and supplies.
The Unity of Boulder Spiritual Center invites the community to its annual Thanksgiving potluck dinner from noon to 4 p.m. at 2855 Folsom St.. Attendees are welcome to bring a dish to share, fostering a spirit of generosity and togetherness.
In a fun twist, the Louisville Turkey Trot is set to kick off at 9 a.m. near Walnut and Front streets. Participants will enjoy hot chocolate and coffee post-race, with proceeds benefiting Community Food Share.
Over in Niwot, the Niwot Community Connection will host a Thanksgiving potluck meal from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Niwot Hall, 195 Second Ave. This gathering aims to bring locals together for a warm meal and a sense of community.
These events highlight the importance of community support during the holiday season. Residents are encouraged to participate, share, and spread the word to ensure everyone has the opportunity to enjoy a Thanksgiving meal today.
