Former Browns Player Urges Deion Sanders to Replace Stefanski NOW
UPDATE: A former Cleveland Browns player, Leigh Bodden, is calling for a major shake-up in the team’s coaching staff, suggesting that Deion Sanders should take over as head coach immediately. As the Browns prepare for a crucial game against the Las Vegas Raiders this weekend, Bodden believes that Deion and his son Shedeur Sanders could lead Cleveland to a Super Bowl victory.
Bodden, who played eight seasons in the NFL, stated, “It’s the perfect time to move on from head coach Kevin Stefanski.” His comments come ahead of Shedeur’s first start for the Browns, which will be a pivotal moment in the 2025 season as they look to improve their performance.
Shedeur will step in as the starting quarterback with Dillon Gabriel sidelined due to injury. Bodden expressed disbelief that Shedeur did not receive any first-team reps until just this week, questioning Stefanski’s decisions during Deshaun Watson‘s time as quarterback.
Bodden praised Deion Sanders for his success at the college level, saying, “His star power would attract all kinds of talented players and coaches to Cleveland.” He believes that together, Deion and Shedeur could have a dynamic similar to that of Tom Brady and Bill Belichick during their legendary tenure with the New England Patriots.
Despite the struggles faced by Deion’s Colorado team, currently sitting at 3-7 this season, Bodden remains optimistic. He stated, “I’ma help turn this program around,” expressing his commitment to bring a Lombardi trophy celebration to Lake Erie. He believes that Deion, being a Hall of Famer, could easily command respect in a professional locker room.
As the Browns gear up for their critical matchup against the Raiders, all eyes will be on Shedeur’s debut. Will this be the start of a new era for Cleveland? Fans and analysts alike are eager to see if Bodden’s vision of a father-son coaching duo can become a reality in the NFL.
Stay tuned as this story develops and the Browns aim to turn their season around with Shedeur’s debut this weekend.
