UPDATE: A 62-year-old man from Cherry Hill has been arrested for allegedly attempting to lure a minor for sexual purposes. Nimrod Lasman faces serious charges of second-degree attempted child luring and second-degree attempted sexual assault, according to officials from the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office.

The arrest occurred on October 27, when Lasman engaged in online chats with an individual he believed to be a 14-year-old boy. In a shocking twist, the person he was communicating with was actually an undercover detective. Authorities report that Lasman arranged to meet the supposed minor at a park for illicit activities.

Detectives swiftly apprehended him at the Cooper River Dog Park in Cherry Hill later that day. Following his arrest, Lasman was processed and subsequently remanded to the Camden County Correctional Facility.

The Camden County Prosecutor’s Office urges anyone with additional information regarding this case to contact Det. James Cavanaugh at (856) 225-8446. The public is reminded that charges are merely allegations, and every individual is considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

This alarming case underscores the ongoing efforts by law enforcement to combat child exploitation and ensure the safety of minors in the community. As this story develops, further updates are expected, and officials are urging vigilance among parents and guardians.
