Cayenne Electric Unleashes 1,139 HP, Becomes Heaviest Porsche Ever
BREAKING NEWS: The new Cayenne Electric has officially been announced as the most powerful and heaviest production Porsche ever, making waves in the automotive world. With a staggering 1,139 horsepower and 1,106 pound-feet of torque, the Turbo variant of this electric SUV is not just fast—it’s also a heavyweight champion, tipping the scales at 5,831 pounds (2,645 kilograms) without a driver.
This remarkable weight marks a significant milestone for Porsche, surpassing the previous record held by the Porsche Cayenne Turbo E-Hybrid Coupe, which weighed in at 5,721 lbs (2,595 kg). The Cayenne Electric Turbo’s heft is largely due to its massive 113-kWh battery pack, which alone contributes approximately 1,322 lbs (600 kg) to its weight. For context, that’s nearly as heavy as an entire Porsche 356 SL, a lightweight racer that triumphed at the 1951 24 Hours of Le Mans.
While the Cayenne Electric Turbo stands out among Porsche’s lineup, it is not the heaviest electric SUV on the market. The Mercedes G-Class, weighing in at an astounding 6,801 lbs (3,084 kg), and the EQS SUV at 6,792 lbs (3,081 kg), both exceed the weight of Porsche’s latest offering. Even American competitors like the Cadillac Escalade IQ dominate the scale at a colossal 9,134 lbs (4,143 kg).
This weight trend is not new for Porsche. The original 2002 Cayenne was also hefty, weighing 5,191 lbs (2,355 kg) in Turbo S trim. As Porsche continues to innovate, the upcoming three-row SUV—initially slated to be electric—will debut with combustion engines, further pushing the boundaries of weight in their lineup.
Analysts are closely watching how these developments will impact consumer preferences, especially as the market shifts towards electric vehicles. The Cayenne Electric Turbo’s launch is set to captivate enthusiasts and eco-conscious drivers alike, solidifying Porsche’s commitment to performance and luxury.
Stay tuned for more updates as this story develops, and be prepared for the next phase in Porsche’s ambitious plans to redefine automotive standards. The Cayenne Electric Turbo is set to change perceptions of electric SUVs—both in power and weight.
