Bay Area High School Football Week 8: Thrilling Showdowns Unfold

UPDATE: The Bay Area high school football scene erupted this weekend with electrifying matchups across the region, delivering stunning results that have shaken up the standings. As of October 14, 2023, fans witnessed a series of decisive victories that are sure to impact playoff positioning as the season heats up.
In a dominating performance, No. 1 De La Salle crushed Amador Valley with a score of 56-13. Jayden Nicholas ignited the game with an explosive 80-yard kickoff return for a touchdown, followed by a 30-yard TD pass from Brayden Knight to Dylan Scott, propelling De La Salle to a perfect 7-0 record this season. The defeat leaves Amador Valley at 2-6.
In another standout game, No. 3 Pittsburg triumphed over No. 14 Liberty with a score of 29-12. In the West Catholic Athletic League, No. 11 Archbishop Mitty edged out No. 22 Sacred Heart Cathedral 27-20, with quarterback Joseph Engin leading the way, contributing both in the air and on the ground.
The weekend also saw No. 13 Menlo School dominate Palo Alto 49-6, maintaining their undefeated streak at 7-0. Jack Freehill scored multiple touchdowns, ensuring Menlo’s strong positioning for the upcoming games.
Other notable scores included No. 19 Santa Teresa overpowering Leigh 42-7, and No. 21 Clayton Valley defeating Miramonte in a commanding 56-14 win, with Jhadis Luckey scoring six touchdowns.
