Ravens Key Players Cleared to Face Bengals in Crucial Match
The Baltimore Ravens confirmed that several key starters will be available for their critical matchup against the Cincinnati Bengals on November 23, 2023. Notably, All-Pro safety Kyle Hamilton, who faced shoulder and ankle injuries earlier in the week, participated fully in practice and has no injury designation. His presence will be vital as the Ravens aim to maintain their momentum in the AFC North.
Quarterback Lamar Jackson and wide receiver Rashod Bateman are also cleared to play after dealing with injuries. Jackson had a brief absence due to a toe issue, while Bateman missed the last two games with an ankle injury. Their return is significant for a Ravens team looking to solidify its position in the playoff race.
The Ravens’ defense is expected to face a formidable challenge, particularly with Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow returning from a long injury layoff. Burrow has not played since Week 2 due to a turf toe injury that required surgery. Additionally, All-Pro wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase will be back in action after serving a one-game suspension. Their combined performances have historically posed a threat to Baltimore.
“Joe has been one of the best for a while, so it doesn’t matter that he didn’t play a lot,” remarked Ravens outside linebacker Dre’Mont Jones earlier this week. “When he’s back there, he’s lethal, so we have to do our part.” The Ravens are aware of Burrow’s ability to change the game, especially considering his past performance against them, including a staggering 428 yards and four touchdowns in their last meeting.
The Bengals will also feel the impact of injuries, missing key players such as All-Pro edge rusher Trey Hendrickson and receiver Tee Higgins, who is sidelined due to a concussion. Hendrickson, a four-time Pro Bowl selection, has not played since suffering a hip injury in late October. His absence leaves Cincinnati’s defense vulnerable, particularly as they rank last in the league, allowing an average of 415.8 yards and 32.7 points per game.
Despite their current struggles, the Bengals (3-8) have shown resilience in past encounters with the Ravens. However, they come into this game on a four-game losing streak and have lost their last three matchups in Baltimore. Conversely, the Ravens (6-5) are riding a five-game winning streak, which has propelled them into a tie for first place in the AFC North with the Pittsburgh Steelers.
As the Ravens prepare for this pivotal game, the stakes are high. A victory could further solidify their playoff aspirations, while a win for the Bengals could reignite their season and keep hopes alive in a competitive division.
Fans will be watching closely as both teams take the field in what promises to be an electrifying Thanksgiving night matchup.
